Global Manufacturing and Supply

Working across an international network of sites, global manufacturing and supply (GMS) manufactures, packs and supplies the entire portfolio of our pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare products.

Operating common global processes for maximum efficiency and competitive advantage, we work closely with R&D to ensure the smooth and rapid transition of new products into full-scale manufacture. We also ensure the continuity of supply and respond to market needs for new presentations, line extensions and package designs.

Our long-term success depends on the commercialisation of new products coming through the Pharma and Consumer Healthcare pipelines, and so GMS has a key role to play.

The speed of introduction of new products is crucial, but so too is having a robust and reproducible manufacturing process to deliver high quality products at low cost. To achieve this, we'll focus on strong partnerships, simplified processes, new technologies and well-managed product lifecycles.

Our business
Despite the tremendous size and diversity of our business - 37 countries, 34,000 people and 1,200 different products - GMS exists to support the commercial ambitions of GSK. Above all, we're dedicated to delivering the right products to patients and customers, at the right time and cost.

Our culture
Our supply chain education and procurement programmes are widely admired.

We want to make GMS a high performance organization where people focus on the outputs rather than the inputs and where people feel they can really make a difference. This means encouraging you to move beyond your comfort zone, challenge how things are done and seek new ways to achieve our ambitions. Our Learning and Development community is central to all of this, since it provides a source of guidance, information and resources in GMS.

What's great about working in global manufacturing and supply?
We empower our people to do their best work through continual development. And we've created an environment that will encourage you to put forward your ideas - whether they're about process improvements, identifying opportunities to use better technology, or simplifying the way we work.
