The Consumer Healthcare division of GSK is looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to work with our Sales team to deliver on our key brands such as Aquafresh, Sensodyne and Beechams.
This role will be reporting to the Retail Sales Analyst. The Retail Sales team are responsible for managing relationships with some of the UK’s big retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons.
Key responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Management Decision Support to Retail Sales Team:
- Preparation and maintenance of the daily sales tracker which is sent out to the business
- Assistance in the preparation of analysis for monthly meetings with the Leadership Team
- Downloading of information from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons websites to track CHUK’s sales performance and stock holding in these retailers
- Update all account’s sales trackers to monitor our product’s performance
- Liaising with National Account Managers to adapt and update their joint business plans with their retailers
- Potential to be first point of contact for some of the National Account Managers, e.g. Superdrug and Somerfield - the student would be helping to provide solutions to their queries and assisting with ad hoc analysis
Financial Reporting and Sarbanes Oxley:
- Manage sales finance month end processes related to promotional events, liaising with the Retail Sales Team to ensure all relevant accruals and releases are processed and correct
- Complete relevant documents required for Sarbanes Oxley compliance, liaising with Sales Directors, Compliance Finance Manager and the Auditors where necessary
- Updating monthly reports for review with the Finance and Sales teams
Key skills
- Literate with Excel
- Ideally studying degree with some numeracy
- Confident and good interpersonal skills
- Proactive
- Good organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff of varying levels
