Operating in the fiercely competitive environment of retail and consumer marketing GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare brings oral healthcare, over-the-counter medicines and nutritional healthcare products to millions of people.
Brand names such as Panadol, Beechams, Aquafresh, and NiQuitin smoking cessation products are household names around the world. In one year GSK Consumer Healthcare produces - among many others - nine billion tablets to relieve stomach upsets, six billion tablets for pain relief and 600 million tubes of toothpaste.
Marketing Industrial Placements
- Work with senior managers on key marketing programmes such as packaging, on-line, promotions, pricing and new product development
- Keep marketing spend systems up to date, and monitor any under/over spends on advertising and promotions budgets
- Support the process of creating new advertising
- Contribute to the preparation of business presentations and participate in key meetings
- Responsibility for co-ordinating and organising project meetings and actions, monitor and update
Sales Industrial Placements
- Works with activation managers to deliver perfect execution at point of purchase within customer marketing
- Drives development of key category brand initiatives
- Works with the sales team with pricing analysis of retailer specific and market sales data, category strategy development and customer planning
- Analysis and interpretation of sales data to assess market trends and future sales opportunities
- Working with IT help to deliver information sharing databases and communication tools
- Supports the planning of sales and marketing meetings, development of trade presentations and NPD launch activities
- Assisting the healthcare professional team with project work aimed at driving recommendation and endorsement of GSK products to healthcare professionals including GPs, pharmacists and dentists
