Key facts
The Business Development Executive role
GSK are recognised for the quality not only of it’s products, but of our sales training too. Certainly, if you're considering a career in sales and marketing, this is one of the best opportunities you could possibly get.
Following thorough, formal training, you'll take up your own sales territory, where you'll promote our Ribena and Lucozade ranges to existing and potential outlets. These will include schools, universities, health clubs, small retailers, hospitals, wholesalers and catering companies.
Working from home and planning your own workload, you'd make typically six visits a day (including cold calls). We will give you the tools to build customer relationships, negotiate deals and assist them with sales development. Your main responsibilities will also be to achieve category management, promotion, distribution and equipment targets within a defined geographical territory.
There'll be challenging targets to achieve each month - and you'd be expected to plan and run your own new business programme, supported by our telemarketing team.
Training and development
Whilst this is a self-sufficient, field-based role, you'd enjoy the full support of your regional sales manager and would be part of a close-knit team. We'll take your training and career development very seriously too, as we'll be viewing you as a potential National Account Manager of the future.
The ability to build a rapport with busy customers is vital and you should have a clean driving licence, with a flexible attitude to your location. Plus you'll need to be a good administrator who can operate successfully with minimal management input.
