Key facts
- An Industrial placement is a work placement carried out as part of a sandwich degree course and is usually six or twelve months long
- You must be on a sandwich degree and be taking the industrial placement as a recognised sandwich year to be eligible
- Recruitment takes place annually in Autumn, with start dates July-September

Training and development
- An Industrial placement at GSK will offer you the opportunity to develop the skills you have learnt at university in a practical environment, as well as learning several new ones.
- When Industrial placement students join GSK their manager will set objectives for the year through the performance development planning process.
- Training offered will be tailored to meet individual needs
- Through their day to day role and interactions a student's personal skill base will be developed throughout their placement year. These include: communication, planning and organising, problem solving, teamwork, confidence and networking skills.
