Gap year programmes
We don’t run any formal programmes for students who are in between school and university. However we have built strong relationships with two organisations that we feel can give worthwhile experiences to students in their pre-university gap year.
We take part in Lattitude Global Volunteering’s Business Partnership Scheme. With a history spanning 35 years Lattitude specialise in volunteering for 17-25 year-olds and aim to provide unique experiences of voluntary work placements for young people around the world. Latittude place 2,000 young volunteers a year in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and Australasia, offering a variety of placements including teaching, caring, environmental, outdoor activity, medical and community development projects.
Lattitude’s Business Partnership Scheme benefits us, as volunteering with Latittude helps to develop many of the behavioural competencies that we and other organisations that recruit graduates are looking for. To find out more visit the Lattitude website.
If you are interested in working during your year out you can also contact The Year in Industry who run a work experience scheme for students who have been accepted and have deferred a place at university.
