Demolition and Construction Waste
Chart: Demolition and Construction Waste   Demolition and construction waste disposed includes hazardous and non-hazardous waste from site demolition and construction activities related to plant upgrades and preparation for potential site closures. In 2001, 23.0 million kilograms of demolition and construction waste was disposed decreasing to 15.9 million kilograms in 2002 and then increasing again to 23.4 million kilograms in 2003. The fluctuation in demolition and construction waste disposed is the reason we do not include it in other waste estimates. In addition to the demolition and construction waste disposed, we recycled 2.3 million kilograms in 2001, increasing to 14.2 million kilograms in 2002 and decreasing again to 1.7 million kilograms in 2003.
