Chairman of the Board
The GlaxoSmithKline Board of Directors has a clear responsibility
to report to external stakeholders and make sure GlaxoSmithKline
stays on track with addressing environment, health and safety concerns.
Significant achievements this year in safety include development
of targeted programmes to improve the safety of our sales force.
For the environment, our programmes have succeeded in producing
continuous improvement and we are well on our way toward meeting
most of our five-year targets.
As Chairman of the Board of Directors, I strongly support the ten-year EHS plan and the programmes that are helping us make progress on the path to environmental sustainability.
