Contract Manufacturers Environmental Impact
In 2003 we collected core EHS data from seven major contract manufacturers, three of which also reported in 2002. Manufacture of our products by these contract manufacturers resulted in the disposal of 47,310,270 kilograms of hazardous waste and 438,720 kilograms of non-hazardous waste. It consumed 76,595 gigajoules of energy from electricity, 98,065 gigajoules of energy from fuels for activities not related to transport and 1,815 gigajoules of energy from fuels for activities related to transport. Data from this pilot group of contract manufacturers is not included in any of the charts and it is not included in the verification by ERM. |
