Asthma explained. Mogens Jensen was diagnosed with asthma in 1998, but he was determined not to allow it to control his life and stop his sporting activities, including taking part in regular Ironman competitions in his native Denmark.

" Whenever I take on a challenge, I know I have the best chance of succeeding because my asthma is under control," says Mogens.

"I want to set an example and maybe be an inspiration and a motivator for other asthmatics - to show them that if you dream it you can do it. I was taught that you should never limit yourself and that you should go beyond your wildest dreams and imagination. I have taken control of my asthma and not allowed my asthma to control me."
