BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. and PITTSBURGH (August 20, 2003) - Dualstar Consumer Products, the consumer products division of Dualstar Entertainment Group, the corporate group which owns and operates the mary-kateandashley™ brand, announced today the introduction of the
mary-kateandashley brand toothpaste. Named for teen superstars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and co-branded with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare's Aquafresh®, the
mary-kateandashley brand toothpaste is the newest addition to the best-selling fashion, lifestyle and health and beauty product lines from the mary-kateandashley brand. The toothpaste begins shipping to retailers this week.
The launch of the mary-kateandashley brand toothpaste is a landmark in the history of toothpaste marketing: it is the first time a children's toothpaste will be co-branded with live celebrities, rather than fictional or animated characters. Sold under the slogan It's How You Smile, the new toothpaste will be available at retail nationwide beginning September 2003. It is also the first product in the mary-kateandashley brand health and beauty product line to be sold in stores other than Wal-Mart.
Dualstar and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, one of the world's largest toothpaste manufacturers, anticipate kids and parents will respond positively to Mary-Kate and Ashley's involvement with the product, which creates a uniquely upbeat and positive image for children. The photo of Mary-Kate and Ashley to be used on the product packaging shows the girls at age 13, thus appealing to the toothpaste's younger age demographic. The packaging will also carry the mary-kateandashley brand logo.

The launch of the mary-kateandashley brand toothpaste is the latest chapter in the
mary-kateandashley brand health and beauty product story. Other products from the
mary-kateandashley brand include hair care liquids, cosmetics, cosmetic bags, fragrances, brushes, hair appliances and specialty bath products.
