Patient groups
GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading research-based healthcare companies. It is comprised of four geographical regions - Europe, the USA, Japan and International. Each region has separate pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare organisations.
Within GSK Pharmaceuticals International are 118 countries accounting for approximately 18 percent (or 21 per cent of total pharmaceutical turnover) of GSK's overall global turnover. Pharmaceuticals International covers eight geographical areas and a number of 'sub-areas' as follows:
Canada, Australasia, Mexico, China/Hong Kong, Middle East and North Africa, Asia Pacific, sub Saharan Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean.
The 15,516 permanent employees of GSK Pharmaceuticals International, together with their 100,000 colleagues in other parts of the company, share the same global mission: "to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer".
