BLISS - The Premature Baby Charity

BLISS was established 27 years ago, and is the only national organisation dedicated to working for special care babies and their families.

They support parents through a dedicated Family Support Team who operate a Freephone Helpline, online interactive parent message board and provide email support, online information and free publications.

They produce a comprehensive Parent Information Guide that is free to parents via neonatal units and available over the phone or through their website. It is also stocked by 85 per cent of neonatal units as they try and ensure that every parent has access to this valuable information.

We are a new supporter of this group in 2007.

During 2007:

• We gave an unrestricted Medical Fellowship grant of £500 to support BLISS for the benefit of patients as part of our annual employee charity nomination scheme. 

Our funding represents less than 0.03 per cent of their income overall.
