Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.

They support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Cancer is common – over 270,000 new cases are diagnosed each year in the UK. At Cancer Research UK they are working hard to improve their understanding of cancer and develop better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.

We have supported Cancer Research UK since 2006.

During 2007:

  • We gave a Medical Fellowship grant of £8,000 to support the 'Turn the Tables' lunch held on 11th June 2007.
  • We gave a charitable donation of £10,000 in support of the production of a DVD to inform and encourage individuals to pledge funds to the charity.

Our funding represents less than 1 per cent of their income overall.
