Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and advocate for better cancer care.

We have supported this organisation since 2004.

During 2007:

  • We gave an unrestricted Medical Fellowship donation of £100 to support Macmillan Cancer Support for the benefit of patients, following a charity team building event at the 2007 Medical Conference.
  • We gave a charitable donation of £60,000 to fund the Parliamentary Palace of Varieties event in 2008. This is a key fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support. We also made a further donation of £2,700 which brought the total raised by GSK whose employees had participated in the charity's annual Coffee Morning fundraising event to £35,000.

Our funding represents 0.09 per cent of their income overall.
