The Mulberry Centre

The Mulberry Centre is a drop-in centre for anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer to visit for information and support. It provides a holistic approach within a non-medical and welcoming environment.

Based at the West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth but funded entirely from charitable donations, the centre was established in 2001 and became an independent charity in 2005.

One in three people are likely to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. The Mulberry Centre seeks to provide services specifically for those either diagnosed with cancer within the past two years, the primary carer of the cancer patient, or someone recently bereaved through cancer. The services available include the following:

  • a Macmillan Cancer Information officer
  • Counselling
  • Support groups
  • Complementary therapies: reflexology, massage, aromatherapy or shiatsu
  • Relaxation therapies: meditation, yoga, or T’ai Chi
  • Welfare rights and money advice
  • Extensive library

We are a new supporter of this group in 2007.

During 2007:

  • We gave an unrestricted Medical Fellowship donation of £100 to support The Mulberry Centre for the benefit of patients, following a charity team building event at the 2007 Medical Conference.

Our funding represents less than 0.05 per cent of their income overall.
