National Society for Epilepsy (NSE)

NSE is the largest medical charity in the field of epilepsy in the UK.  It has been providing services for people with epilepsy for more than 100 years.

The NSE's mission is to enhance the quality of life of people affected by epilepsy, by promoting research, education and public awareness and by delivery specialist medical care and support services.

We have supported this organisation since 1993.

During 2006:

  • We gave a medical fellowship grant £20,000 to support the NSE, in providing an awareness campaign to patients and pharmacists. This was an independent NSE project helping to raise awareness of key messages about epilepsy and its treatment. This consisted of information to assist the general public in making informed decisions, when considering their anti-epilepsy medicines, including lifestyle characteristics and personal preferences.

Our funding represents 1 per cent of their income overall.
