Research into Ageing

Research into Ageing (RiA) is the biomedical research programme of Help the Aged (HtA), an independent charitable organisation registered in the UK and operating since 1961. Research is central to the charity's mission of securing and upholding the rights of disadvantaged older people in the UK and around the world. Funding vital research on ageing, influencing its direction via the academic and research community, and promoting the effective dissemination of research findings that will have the greatest impact on policy and practice.

We have supported this group since 2000.

During 2007:

  • We gave a charitable donation of £177,513 in support of a three year medical research programme entitled: 'The Role of MIF in Wound Healing in the Elderly' with Dr Matthew Hardman, University of Manchester

Our funding represents less than 8.9 per cent of their income overall.
