SANE

SANE works to raise awareness and respect for people with mental illness and their families, improve education and training, and secure better services.

They undertake research into the causes of serious mental illness through The Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE Research and provide information and emotional support to those experiencing mental health problems, their families and carers through SANELINE.

We have supported this organisation since 1987.

During 2006:

  • We gave an unrestricted medical fellowship grant of £25,000 to help SANE develop its communications infrastructure.
  • We also awarded £3,000 to SANE as the first prize in The CEO Excellence Awards for the Environment, Health and Safety.

Our funding represents 2.8 per cent of SANE’s overall income (based on an estimate of what SANE hope to raise in 2006/07).
