The Venus Appeal

The Venus Appeal was founded by gynaecology cancer nurse specialists, medical consultants, research consultants and women affected by gynaecological cancer and their representatives.  Their aim is to work together and raise awareness of gynaecological cancer by breaking the taboo and embarrassment that often surrounds these types of cancer, helping women to talk openly about the signs and symptoms and to understand the benefits of early treatment.

We have supported this group since 2006.

During 2007:

  • We gave an unrestricted Medical Fellowship grant of £10,000 for educational and awareness-raising materials as part of the Venus Appeal 2007

Our funding represents 20 per cent of their income overall.
