20% reinvestment

The chronic shortage of trained health workers in the world’s poorest countries is recognised as one of the most fundamental barriers to good health. A fully trained and well-supported community health worker can effectively deliver treatments and provide health education to 5,000 children in a year.

In the world’s Least Developed Countries we have committed to reinvest 20% of our profits back in to improving the healthcare infrastructure in those countries. Through our reinvestment, community health workers are trained in basic healthcare delivery and act as the first point of contact for people in remote and marginalised communities. We anticipate that this could improve access to healthcare for 20 million under-served people by 2020 (vs 2012).

Use the map above to find details of all our 20% reinvestment programmes, now running in all 34 of the Least Developed Countries where we make a profit. We deliver our programmes in partnership with Save the Children in West Africa, AMREF in East and Southern Africa and CARE International in Asia.
