Patient group funding

The European Federation of Neurological Associations

The Federation is an ‘umbrella’ organisation whose members are the pan-European federations of national patient groups in individual neurological conditions. It engages in activities, which contribute to the advancement of neurology and related areas with a view to improving the quality of life of people living with neurological conditions, their families and carers.

We have supported this organisation since it was formed, in 2000.

During 2010:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £20,000 to help them with their activities.
  • In addition we gave an unrestricted grant of £12,000 to help support the organisation of a UK health technology assessment training course for patient advocacy representatives held in June 2010 in London.
  • Finally, we gave an unrestricted grant of €10,000 to help support the organisation of a European health technology assessment training course for patient advocacy representatives held in September 2010 in London.

Our support represents 10% of their overall income.



During 2009:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £10,000 to help support the organisation of a health technology assessment training course for neurology and oncology patient advocacy representatives held on 7-9 September 09 in London.
  • Also we gave an unrestricted grant of £20,000 to help them with their activities 
  • In addition, we gave an unrestricted grant of £5,000 for the EFNA carer study


During 2008:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £20,000 to help them with their activities
  • We also gave £5000 to help support the publication of a carers study

Our support represents 10% of their overall funding.



During 2007:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £20,000 to help them with their activities  

Our funding represents around 19.85% of their income overall.



During 2006:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £42,500 to help EFNA with their activities in 2006.

Our funding represents around 39.5% of their income overall.
