Global Alliance of Mental Illness Advocacy Networks - GAMIAN - Europe

The purpose of GAMIAN - Europe is to encourage and promote information, education and awareness on the current knowledge of the treatment and support available to those affected by mental illness and to undertake relevant research, either alone or jointly with academic bodies.

We have supported this organisation since 1999.

During 2010:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of €25,000 to help them with their activities.

Our support represents 15% of their overall income.



During 2009:

  • We gave a €500 honorarium for a presentation given by Gamian Europe's president on patient aspects of living with schizophrenia at an internal GSK meeting

  • Also, we gave an unrestricted grant of €25,000 to help them with their activities

Our support represents 26% of their overall income.



During 2008:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of €25,000 to help them with their activities 

Our support represents 23% of their overall income.



During 2007:

  • GSK gave an unrestricted grant of €25,000 to help GAMIAN-Europe with their activities 

Our funding represents approximately 25% of their income overall.



In 2006:

  • We gave an unrestricted grant of £10,000 to help GAMIAN - Europe with their activities.
  • We gave GAMIAN - Europe £879 (travel and expenses) to support the attendance of the Director at a national patient advocacy leadership summit in Warsaw, Poland organised by GSK Poland.
  • We also gave £362.90 (travel and expenses) to support the Director to attend the European Institute for Health conference in Brussels.

Our funding represents approximately 7% of their income overall.
