GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading research-based healthcare companies. It comprises five geographical regions - Europe, the USA, Japan, Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific. Each region has separate pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare organisations.
Within GSK Pharmaceuticals Emerging Markets are 115 countries that together account for approximately 11 per cent of GSK’s global pharmaceutical sales. The Region covers seven geographical Areas - China, India, Latina, Mexico, MENA, SSA and Russia/CIS - and has 12,600 employees.
The markets covered by the GSK Asia Pacific Region include Australaia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia - together they account for more than 3,100 staff. The Region contributes 4.1 per cent of GSK’s global pharmaceutical sales.
Japan, meanwhile, has 3,200 employees and accounts for over 5 per cent of GSK’s global pharmaceutical turnover.
