South Africa
The following group was supported by South Africa in 2008:
South African Depression & Anxiety Group
The South African Depression & Anxiety Group provides counselling services, mental health awareness programmes, powerful media campaigns, school talks and rural outreach initiatives to thousands of patients, families and communities in South Africa.
We have supported this group since 2004.
During 2008:
- We provided funding of ZAR 100,000 for this three-year project to support home based health care and mental health awareness training in rural areas.
- We gave an unrestricted grant of ZAR 60,000 to support counselling services, run mental health awareness programmes, conduct media campaigns, and deliver educational sessions at schools.
Our funding represents 4% of their income overall.
During 2007:
- We gave ZAR 680,820 to support organisation activities
