Patient group funding
The ITP Support Association
The ITP Support Association is a UK registered charity which aims to promote and improve the general welfare of patients, and the families of patients, with immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura.
We have supported this group since 2006.
During 2010:
- We gave £3,000 towards their 2010 Patient's Convention held in Newport, Wales on 17 April, and their quarterly journal for members ‘The Platelet’.
- We gave an unrestricted core funding grant of £3,000 for the benefit of patients.
Our support represents 8% of their overall income.
During 2009:
- We gave an unrestricted core funding grant of £6,000 for the benefit of patients.
- We gave an educational grant of £1,021 in respect of exhibition booth space at the European Haematology Association's annual meeting in Berlin, 4-7 June 2009.
Our support represents approximately 10% of their overall income.
During 2008:
- We gave an unrestricted core funding grant of £6,000 for the benefit of patients
Our support represents approx 9.5% of their overall income
During 2007:
- We gave a Medical Fellowship grant of £1,110.48 to support the purchase costs of a new computer to enable the ITP Support Association to continue publishing the patient newsletter “The Platelet” and other ITP factsheets
- We gave an unrestricted grant of £1,220 to help support the printing and distribution costs of 'The Platelet' newsletter
- We gave a Medical Fellowship grant of £1,500 to support the ITP Support Association's Annual Convention and Seminar held on 13-14 April 2007.
Our funding represents 8.5% of their income overall.
In 2006:
- We gave a medical fellowship award of £1,800 to help them purchase a new laptop computer so that they can continue to produce the quarterly newsletter 'The Platelet'.
- We gave £1,250 to support the publication of their newsletter.
- We also gave an educational grant of £500 to support their annual convention.
Our funding represents 9% of their income overall.
