Patient group funding

Naz Project London (NPL)

NPL provides sexual health and HIV prevention and support services to targeted Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in London.

NPL aims to educate and empower communities to face up to the challenges of sexual health and the AIDS pandemic, and to mobilise the support networks that exist for people living with HIV/AIDS.

NPL also provides training services to voluntary, community and statutory organisations as well as a wide range of free resources.

We have supported this organisation since 2008.

During 2009:

  • We gave £1,000 in support of printing conference publicity materials for the NPL’s 2009 national conference “Daring to speak: Sexual health and Black and Minority Ethnic Men who have sex with Men” held on 2 June 2009.
  • We gave a donation of £4,000 towards the year 1 costs for small media advertising and training development for the BME HIV Positive Leadership Programme.
  • We gave a speaker honorarium of £300 for a GSK symposium at the BHIVA meeting on 9 October 2009.

Our support represents 0.6% of their overall income.

During 2008:

  • We gave an unrestricted core funding grant of £5,000 for the benefit of patients.

Our support represents 0.56% of their overall funding.
