Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB)
The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) mission is to challenge blindness by empowering people who are blind or partially sighted, removing the barriers they face and helping to prevent blindness.
We have supported this organisation since 2002.
During 2009:
- We gave a charitable donation of £120,399; this is the final donation from a three year grant, in support of the RNIB's 'Emotional Support and Counselling Pilot Project'. This project will be run at RNIB's Low Vision Centre and in partnership with Sight Service at their Low Vision Centre in Gateshead.
Our support represents 1% of their overall funding.
During 2008:
- We gave a charitable donation of £98,792, the second of three annual donations, in support of the RNIB's 'Emotional Support and Counselling Pilot Project'. This project will be run at RNIB's Low Vision Centre and in partnership with Sight Service at their Low Vision Centre in Gateshead.
Our support represents 1% of their overall funding.
During 2007:
- We gave a charitable donation of £121,637, the first of three annual donations, in support of the RNIB's 'Emotional Support and Counselling Pilot Project'. This project will be run at RNIB's Low Vision Centre and in partnership with Sight Service at their Low Vision Centre in Gateshead.
Our support represents 1% of their overall funding.
In 2006:
- RNIB Sunshine House School, Northwood provides specialist education for visually impaired children and our charitable donation of £9,000 will be used to obtain specialist physiotherapy equipment in order to enable the children to sit or stand whilst studying.
