What will the apprenticeship offer me?

Our apprenticeships offer the chance to study towards nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable, paid work experience. Our apprentices all work towards a minimum Level 3, Advanced Apprenticeship. In some cases, a level 4 Higher Apprenticeship – the equivalent to a foundation degree - may be offered.

What will the programme be like?

Technology is critical to our business. An IT apprenticeship will give you the chance to work with world-leading technologies in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

Over the three-year scheme you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of the role IT plays in our business and the way we use technology. You’ll work as part of a team of technology professionals. Full support will be given by your manager to help develop both your technical skills and business knowledge, and ensure you get the most out of your apprenticeship. 

You’ll be aligned to one of our main IT functions, combining on-the-job learning with a programme of training and development. Your role could include:

•    testing new business systems
•    improving our processes
•    developing applications
•    supporting our manufacturing technologies
•    designing ways to use new IT services or products

Becoming an apprentice is a brilliant way to gain valuable experience and earn professional certification.

Where can I do my apprenticeship?

We have a number of IT apprenticeships available in the UK at the following sites:

• Ware (Herts) 
• Stevenage (Herts)
• Stockley Park (Uxbridge)

What will I learn?

We’re big on personal and professional development. So you'll learn a huge amount while taking on new challenges enhancing your technical and functional expertise as well as improving your business knowledge. You'll also gain invaluable communication, planning, organising, problem-solving, team-working and networking skills.

Do I have the skills?

To join our IT apprenticeship scheme, you’ll need:
 

• a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent, including maths and English  (please state your predicted grade in your application if you have yet to receive your result)
  
•  a passion for technology
  
•  an enquiring mind
  
•  enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  

When can I start?

Our IT apprenticeship scheme starts in September 2013.
