Graduate health outcomes programme

Do you want to join a fast-expanding, specialist area? And ensure that patients can access some of the UK’s leading medicines and treatments?

What's health outcomes all about?

Health outcomes is a rapidly growing specialist area in our industry. Our research in this area focuses on improving people’s lives by demonstrating the economic and humanistic value of our present and future medicines through in-depth analysis.

Do I have the skills?

We’re looking for a minimum 2:1 degree in economics, statistics, biomedical science, pharmacy/pharmacology or biological sciences. You should have the confidence and communication skills to express your own opinions, build good working relationships and influence others. A self-starter, you should have an analytical and commercial mind.

What will the programme be like?

You'll undertake a range of health outcomes activities. Your aim will be to generate high-quality and timely data to support the continued access of some of our brands to the UK market. This will involve working across a range of therapy areas including vaccines, oncology, respiratory and metabolic. The role will also entail leading our interface/submissions to organisations such as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

How will it help my career prospects?

The programme aims to turn trainees into health outcomes experts who can lead the way in giving patients access to medicines and treatments. A variety of challenging placements during the programme will help you develop your business competencies and understanding of UK healthcare.

You’ll follow a structured development programme incorporating business leadership and technical training. There may also be the option to further your development through a relevant professional/academic qualification.

What will I learn?

The placements will help you to develop your analytical and reasoning skills in a commercial environment. You’ll also build up your knowledge of the potential impact of key NHS changes on our capability to deliver appropriate information to key customers in the NHS.

In addition, you’ll be involved in developing and implementing our strategy on key aspects of our medicines/brand-related health outcomes activity.

How can I apply?

Applications are now closed for our programmes starting in 2013. Details of the 2014 programmes will be posted in September 2013.
