Graduate information technology (IT) programme
Do you have a passion for technology? Do you want to use IT to deliver life-enhancing healthcare?
We have two graduate programmes on offer IT and SAP.
Our IT development programme offers all-round experience and aims to develop our future IT leaders, whilst our SAP Capability Development Programme (SCDP) offers the opportunity to be a part of one of the worlds largest Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP implementation programmes.
What's it all about?
SAP is the market leader in enterprise IT system, application and product, data processing. GSK has chosen to implement SAP worldwide with to consolidate, simplify and standardise our global operation model and business processes on to a single system platform, both in the commercial and manufacturing areas. As a result of this investment, there is a requirement to increase GSK’s internal SAP capability to be able to implement and support new and current SAP systems. Our professionally, technically and academically challenging three-year SCDP offers the chance to be a part of our global ERP team and become a specialist in SAP and business transformation. Working with some of the best SAP experts in this field you will be given the opportunity to tailor your skills and knowledge to become an SAP Functional Consultant, an integral part of GSK SAP teams.
Do I have the skills?
We’re looking for people with outstanding analytical skills, a natural ability to influence people and a flair for flexible thinking – plus a 2:1 degree in any discipline. Passionate about technology and business transformation, you’ll have the drive and resilience to work in an arena where leadership, innovation and customer focus are highly valued.
What will the programme be like?
You will be given a comprehensive induction programme to prepare you for the SAP overview certification exam which covers all modules of SAP within the first couple of months of joining. A number of SAP functions will be made available for you to choose at the end of the induction programme. You will work with your manager to prepare a development plan mapped to the programme milestones which will consist of formal SAP training and possible business attachment / market visits to support your understanding of business processes. Specialised industrial study towards a chartered qualification will be supported as required. There may even be the chance of a placement with the SAP Corporation to broaden your skills. As the ERP programme will be hectic with ever changing directions and assignments you are expected to be agile, adaptable and be able to maintain a healthy balance of study and work challenges throughout the SCDP proactively.
Where can I go?
Although primarily located in Brentford, west London, the programme is global in scope. This means you may get the chance to visit any one of our programme locations depending on the project you’re working on, so the flexibility to travel is important.
What will I learn?
Your knowledge foundation will be based on in-depth business processes in the area you have chosen and related SAP modules to enable you to make sound business decisions. You’ll learn how SAP technologies are used to operate complex, global businesses and experience the vast scale of the ERP programme. During the programme, you will become a Certified SAP professional with excellent ability to work as a team..
