Undergraduate information technology (IT) placements
We rely on IT in everything we do. It helps us to meet the varied day-to-day business requirements of our global organisation, allowing us to anticipate and plan for the future. An IT placement will give you the opportunity to build on the skills you’ve gained in your studies and apply them in a practical, advanced setting. This will make an invaluable addition to your CV.
What will I be doing?
You'll be doing a real job, with real responsibilities and deliverables. A huge variety of placements are available across the whole business in areas such as global manufacturing and supply (GMS), research and development (R&D) and end-user infrastructure services.
Throughout the year, you'll be embedding yourself within our global IT community. You can expect to learn a huge amount about technology, constantly taking on new challenges and enhancing your technical or functional expertise, while improving your business knowledge. You'll also gain valuable communication, planning, problem-solving, team-working and networking skills.
Do I have the skills?
You should be studying for an IT degree or a business-related degree that includes at least one IT module, and be on track for a 2:1 or above. The industrial placement must be recognised as the sandwich year of your course.
We need self-starters who are keen to learn and develop. With the ability to build good working relationships within and outside the IT community, you'll be a multi-tasker who is resilient, analytical and influential.
When can I start?
Recruitment takes place annually. Applications open online in September every year with placements starting any time between June and September the following year.
