Undergraduate sales and marketing placements (Consumer Healthcare)

A sales and marketing industrial placement will give you first-hand experience of our business. It’s the nearest thing to being a fully fledged employee. Since we see industrial placements as a pipeline for our Consumer Healthcare sales and marketing graduate programme, we’ll take your development seriously.

What will I be doing?

Products such as Beechams Breathe Clear, Lucozade Revive and Ribena Plus rely on good consumer insight, as well as smart science. You could help provide this insight, doing a real job with real responsibilities and expectations. You’ll be aligned to a brand, communications, commercial marketing or sales team. All placements involve working with other students, team members and senior leaders to deliver events that impact the whole of consumer healthcare in the UK.

You might be working on marketing programmes such as packaging design, e-marketing, promotions, pricing strategies, new product development or internal launches. You might also drive sales by improving our in-store presence, using insight on consumers, shoppers and customers, and helping retailers grow revenue on our products.

What will I learn?

Whatever your role, you’ll gain unique experience of a fast-moving Consumer Healthcare business. It will be a springboard for your future commercial career, working with brands which people love.

The year will be about putting into practice the knowledge you have gained from your studies and working life. We want you to take on new challenges to enhance your technical expertise, improve your business knowledge and learn more about how you can contribute and make a difference.

Do I have the skills?

You need to be studying a marketing, sales or business-related degree and be on track for a 2:1 or above. You must also be on a sandwich degree course and be taking the industrial placement as a recognised sandwich year of your course. But we're not just looking for outstanding academics – we need talented, ‘can-do’ people who are passionate about our brands.

When can I start?

Recruitment takes place annually. Applications are open online in September with placements starting any time between June and September the following year.

How can I apply?

Applications are now closed for our programmes starting in 2013. Details of the 2014 programmes will be posted in September 2013.
