Undergraduate summer placements

Are you a penultimate-year university student? Expecting a 2:1 or higher? Would you be interested in a summer placement?

Our summer placements last up to 12 weeks and provide an excellent opportunity to gain insights into life and work in our global healthcare company. We’ll provide you with challenging assignments – and all the support and training you’ll need to make the most of the experience.

Further summer placements may be available in engineering and laboratory science across the UK. If you want to register your interest, here, we will contact you should these become available.

What will I learn?

The programme will give you an insight into our commercial business and our company as a whole. Based in one of our business units, you’ll take on a meaningful project – working closely with others and seeing the project through to conclusion. It will stretch your capabilities, yet you’ll be given full training and the support of senior managers.

You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to meet and talk to some of our current graduates. At the end of the placement, you’ll have a clear idea where your future lies. If you perform well in your placement, you could be fast-tracked onto our 2½-year Pharma sales and marketing graduate programme following your final-year studies.

Do I have the skills?

You should be in your penultimate year of degree study and on course for a 2:1 or higher. Whatever you’re studying, you’ll need to be proactive and enthusiastic with the interpersonal skills to build good working relationships across all levels of the organisation. You should also be customer-driven with an interest in marketing and the ability to think flexibly.

How can I apply?

We are now closed for applications for the 2013 placements. Information on the 2014 scheme will be available in September 2013.
