We help people across the world to do more, feel better and live longer. But the investment we make in patients’ wellbeing extends to our employees. It makes sense: if you don’t feel good in both mind and body, you won’t be able to give your all in your personal and professional life.
Our services, tools and courses help employees take better care of themselves. This means we can give more to each other, our families and the business. Our CEO Andrew Witty wholeheartedly shares our passion for the initiatives we are taking.
How can I be better in body and mind?
Our energy and resilience group helps employees manage energy in stressful conditions in both their personal and professional lives, thus maintaining physical energy levels and focus. Resources like classes, gyms, walking paths, communal coffee areas and relaxation rooms are available for use by employees. There are also healthy menu options in cafeterias.
What are we doing about workplace safety?
Keeping our employees safe onsite and travelling is vitally important. Our aim is zero harm in the workplace. This caring, preventative culture is driven by company-wide programmes such as Living Safety. This revolves around themes of high safety standards, open communication, risk management and proactive involvement of all employees.
How are we caring about the environment?
We always consider the environment in business decisions, and strive to minimise our carbon footprint. We have very ambitious environmental goals for our operations, suppliers and across every link of our value chain. Our targets include to have zero waste to landfill by 2020 and to be carbon neutral by 2050 – so we continuously monitor our carbon, water and waste outputs. We can’t do it alone. All employees are encouraged to participate in our environmental sustainability programmes.
