Calderdale PCT/CCG and GSK Joint working Project - Calderdale

Calderdale PCT/CCG and GlaxoSmithKline are engaged in a Joint Working project to improve Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) healthcare in the Calderdale area.

Both parties have worked together in partnership to support this project, which will run from March 2012 to April 2013.

The purpose of the Joint Working project is to ensure a proactive approach to the management of patients with COPD within the Calderdale PCT/GPCC area. It aims to:

  • Reduce health inequalities associated with COPD and include the development and implementation of a Healthcare Professional Education Programme.
  • Increase access to high quality information and best practice management strategies for people with COPD.
  • Improve the screening of people with COPD. This will result in earlier diagnosis and a more proactive approach to management of COPD in the local area.
  • Deliver on the QIPP programme to reduce hospital admissions.
