Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCCG) and GlaxoSmithKline UK (GSK) Osteoporosis
All parties have committed resources to support this project, which will run from November 2012 – November 2013
The purpose of this Joint Working project is to improve the quality and productivity in the management of patients with osteoporosis within practices in the CCCG and publish as a best practice case study.
The approach will cover:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the current primary care (FLS) by retrospectively comparing outcomes since the service introduction
- Publish evaluation of primary care FLS as an example of best approach
- Development of suitable templates which can be used to collect key audit parameters to measure success and efficiency of a primary care based FLS
- FLS team to use monthly templates reports to support restructure of current FLS protocols to drive improved efficiencies
- Develop reports to utilise risk stratification tool to screen high risk population groups

- This project is intended to benefit patients by creating more opportunities for the appropriate use of medicines, including GSK’s medicines in suitable patients in line with local guidelines.
- To document how joint working between GSK and CCCG has improved Osteoporosis patient management.
