Here we share some practical advice on how you can make sure GSK is the right company for you, and how you can submit the best possible application.
Early careers application tips
Whether it’s for a place on our Apprentice, Future Leaders or Esprit programme, we want you to feel confident, and excited about applying to join us.
To help you get more prepared, three of our Early Talent recruiters share some of their top tips.
Applying to our programmes
There are a number of stages to our application process, use the tabs above to learn more about each. We realise how important feedback is so after your initial application, whether you make it through the following stages or not, we’ll provide feedback to help you maximise your strengths for the future.
Online application form
Our application form doesn’t take long to complete. We’ll ask you to upload your CV, complete details about your studies and confirm your eligibility to work in the market where your chosen programme is based.
World of GSK online assessment (most markets)
If we think you could be right for us, we’ll invite you to complete our World of GSK online assessment. This will help us determine your strengths and suitability to become one of our Future Leaders, while giving you a fascinating insight into what we do and how we work.
You’ll watch videos featuring some of our colleagues who will tell you about what they do at GSK. We’ll then set up scenarios, and ask you how you would manage the situation.
After you complete the World of GSK assessment, we’ll let you know if you’ve made it to the next stage. You’ll also get personalised feedback to help you develop your strengths further.
Don’t worry, you don’t need any knowledge of GSK, or the healthcare sector to succeed at this stage of the application, or at any stage.
GSK life job simulation
Make it through to the next stage and we’ll see how you might perform in your chosen programme. It’s also your chance to get a feel for what it might be like to work with us.
You’ll be presented a scenario with some key business facts and asked to respond through video, writing and multiple choice. We’ll also ask you more about why you want to work here and, if you’ve applied for a technical role, we’ll ask you some technical questions.
Whether you make it through to the next round or not, we’ll give you feedback to help you maximise your strengths in future.
Virtual Assessment Centre
If you progress to our Assessment Centre, congratulations. You’re through to our final stage.
This is your chance to get even more of an insight into what it’s like to work at a world-leading healthcare organisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to see how you’ll fit in, you can ask questions, meet potential future colleagues and see our working culture for yourself.
You’ll spend half a day taking part in immersive exercises. These will include individual exercises and a group, or paired, exercise. Depending on your chosen programme, you might also have to give a presentation and complete a practical or technical exercise. You’ll receive more information in your Assessment Centre invite. Finally, you’ll have a face-to-face, strengths-based interview.
We’ve designed the Assessment Centre to bring out the best in you, so we can see what you’re capable of and we can show you why we’re such an exceptional place to work.
Accept our offer
Great news! If you succeed at the Assessment Centre we’ll make you an offer to become one of our Future Leaders. We’ll talk you through the next steps and use everything we’ve learned about you to make sure you get off to the best possible start in your future career.
